Today people are living longer and generally have more leisure time to visit new places and take part in a wide variety of recreational activities. The practice has been involved in a number of projects to increase the use of the inland waterways, caravan and mobile home parks. We have also made prepared designs for numerous garden centres, public houses, restaurants and a golf course.

Prototype Static Holiday Home
The Study was commissioned by the Isle of Man Government.

The practice was commissioned by Omar Homes Limited to provide a new and radical approach to the design of tourist accommodation and the layout of tourist mobile home and caravan sites.

The object was to depart from the monotonous serried ranks of caravans with the barest of landscaping or other natural features that were typical of many coastal holiday resorts.

As well as devising a more informal layout of mobile homes based on appropriate leisure 'themes' new accommodation was designed that could be factory-made and erected easily on site. On such home was called the 'wave' unit because of the curved shape of the roof.
