The Honywood Secondary School is not only officially regarded as severely deficient in classroom space but also the shared community facilities are also unsatisfactory. Refurbishing the buildings or redeveloping the present site were considered but rejected as both impractical and unviable. Moving to a new site is the only option. With the cooperation of adjoining landowners, ambitious proposals have been prepared which include a significant element of 'enabling' residential development to fund the construction of a new school.
Exhibitions illustrating the proposals and inviting views of members of the public were arranged at Marks Hall (the Trust is a participating landowner) and at the existing Honywood School.
