When adopted, it will put the necessary planning policies in place to permit the Group's proposals for new factory accommodation and associated 'enabling' residential development to be rigorously assessed through the Development Control process. The Plan has been the subject of public consultation and has been submitted for examination to the Secretary of State. A Planning Inspector has been appointed and he will hold a public hearing into the soundness of the Plan during the summer of 2012. His recommendations, which will be binding on the Council if they wish to adopt the Plan, are expected by the early autumn.
